Kante will miss France’s retaliation in the World Cup following hamstring surgery.

N’Golo Kante will not participate in France’s World Cup defence, according to Chelsea, who announced on Tuesday that the midfielder would be out for four months after hamstring surgery.

Since leaving the game against Tottenham in August with a limp, the 31-year-old has not appeared.

In a statement, Chelsea said that N’Golo Kante had surgery for his hamstring injury.

It was mutually decided that N’Golo should undergo surgery to fix the damage after the midfielder saw a specialist from the club’s medical department to investigate his rehabilitation alternatives.

N’Golo is now anticipated to miss four months of action after a successful procedure.
Didier Deschamps would be very disappointed to lose Kante, who was a key component of France’s victory in Russia four years ago. Paul Pogba, Kante’s usual international partner in midfield, is also a serious doubt for the tournament in Qatar.

The announcement is also a setback for Chelsea’s aspirations of returning to the Premier League championship chase following a strong start under Graham Potter’s leadership.

Due to his ongoing injuries over the last year, Chelsea has had to get accustomed to life without Kante, who starred during the Blues’ push to win the Champions League in 2020–21.

With a game remaining in their group schedule, Chelsea must earn a maximum of three points to advance to the Champions League’s round of 16. Chelsea sits eight points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.
