Old naira notes remain legal tender till April 10 – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that the old naira notes, ranging from the N200, N500 to N1000 remain legal tender till April 10 2023. 

Buhari made this declaration in a national broadcast to Nigerians on Thursday.

The apex bank was said to have directed the banks to collect the old banknotes which it had declared non-legal tender with effect from February 10,2023, prompting the banks to not only issue mails to customers to come and deposit their old notes but actually began to collect the old notes. Korea tips Nigeria as gateway to Africa’s blue economy
